PETROLEUM TANKS
Skinner Tank Company (STC) builds a wide range of petroleum storage tanks for the petrochemical industry. We build petroleum tanks for crude oil as well as refined products, such as gasoline and various fuel oils. STC also builds tanks for alternative fuels, like Ethanol and biodiesels. We build traditional diesel fuel tanks, asphalt tanks, as well as tanks used for the storage of recycled motor oils.
We provide coned-roof petroleum tanks that are equipped with internal floating roofs (IFR) and open-top tanks that are equipped with external floating roofs (EFR). We can install both aluminum pontoon type IFR's and steel pan-type IFR's.

WATER TANKS
Skinner Tank Company builds traditional AWWA-D100 tanks for potable water, or we can build one of several other types of tanks for water storage. This includes NFPA-22 firewater tanks, process water tanks, wastewater tanks, tanks for livestock water consumption, storm water collection tanks, or many other varieties of water storage tanks.
Our water tanks are generally considered reservoir-type tanks, not standpipes or elevated tanks on structural supports. At STC, we are well versed in what is needed for the various areas of water storage, and we are prepared to assist you with all of your water tank needs.
FERTILIZER TANKS
Skinner Tank Company takes great pride in its involvement with, and support of, the liquid fertilizer industry in the United States. And in doing so, STC maintains membership in various fertilizer associations all across our country.
In nearly five decades of doing business with the liquid fertilizer industry in the United States, STC has built over 1,000 field erected, liquid fertilizer tanks in 40 states from coast to coast.
We are an innovator in fertilizer tank design and understand the unique needs of our fertilizer customers. Our headquarters is located in the heart of the Midwest, which means STC is in a great position to be logistically competitive for our customers.
FOOD GRADE TANKS
One of Skinner Tank Company's many specialties is the construction of Food Grade tanks. These tanks, sometimes smaller in size but larger in quantity, fit well with STC's capabilities.
Food Grade tanks include an enormous range of product storage. They may consist of anything from molasses tanks for cattle feed to edible oil tanks for the storage of many types of food products for human consumption.
STC provides tanks made out of carbon steel and stainless steel, depending on your needs. Additionally, STC can also provide heating systems for your food grade tanks.
ASPHALT TANKS
Asphalt tanks fall under the umbrella of API Standard 650 Appendix M tanks. Appendix M offers requirements for tanks operating at elevated temperatures, which includes much more than just asphalt tanks; but Skinner Tank Company (STC) has built more heated tanks for asphalt than any other single product.
At STC, we understand the unique requirements of heated product tanks and can design your tank based on your specific needs. We have a large number of insulation providers; therefore, if needed, STC can provide your tank insulation. Because of a constant nationwide need for asphalt, STC has built asphalt tanks in dozens of states all across America.
INTERNATIONAL TANKS
Skinner Tank Company has the expertise to build tanks all around the world. In addition to having tanks located in 40 of the United States, STC tanks are currently located in Russia, the Republic of Georgia, Yemen, Canada, Honduras, Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, and on the islands of Guam and Puerto Rico.
STC has the expertise to fabricate tank kits to be shipped to your destination and built by local laborers, and we can also provide supervisors to oversee tank construction. If you prefer, STC can provide turnkey construction to complete your project. Our tank kit packages include AutoCAD drawings, in addition to customer support before, during, and after construction.
